Pitt County Announces Business Recovery Grant for N.C. Businesses

N.C. Department of Revenue opens application process

PITT COUNTY, N.C. – The North Carolina Department of Revenue (NCDOR) announced on Thursday, December 16, 2021 that it will begin accepting applications for Business Recovery Grants immediately. The program, administered by NCDOR, will issue a one-time payment to N.C. businesses that meet the eligibility requirements and experienced an economic loss of at least 20 percent during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NCDOR advisory detailed two grant availabilities:

  • Hospitality grant for an eligible arts, entertainment, or recreation business, or accommodation or food service business such as a hotel, restaurant, or bar (NAICS code 71 and 72).
  • Reimbursement grant for an eligible business not classified in NAICS Code 71 and 72 and that did not receive funding from other relief programs including Paycheck Protection Program, COVID-19 Job Retention Grant, and EIDL Advance.

“We are pleased to share information about this State grant program with businesses in our community,” says D. Scott Elliott, County Manager.

The grant amount is based on a percentage of the economic loss or $500,000, whichever is less, and applications must be received by January 31, 2022.
