Eastern Carolina Vocational Center (ECVC) received its 16th consecutive Gold Award during a recent ceremony at the Columbus Convention Center in Ohio to honor suppliers of parts for military weapons systems managed by Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime.
The awards were presented by Army Brig. Gen. Darrell K. Williams.
ECVC was one of 37 companies out of 6,000 military suppliers to receive a Gold Award. ECVC also has received three DLA AbilityOne Vendor Awards since the inception of that award in 2000.
The minimum qualification for a Gold Award is to have a perfect score of 100 for quality and on-time shipment for a one-year period.
Other criteria for selection may include a consideration of business ethics, integrity and other factors.
ECVC maintained a score of 100 for January through December of last year while shipping 44,076 orders to Defense Logistics Agency customers.
ECVC, based in Greenville, provides vocational opportunities for individuals with disabilities. As part of its program to provide vocational opportunities, the company supplies batteries and terminal lugs to the Department of Defense.
